R.I.P. Cubicle Boredom

We gather today to say goodbye to Cubicle Boredom. It now goes to rest with the millions of other disregarded blogs. It was fun and entertaining while it lasted (even if the only ones who payed it any attention were the ones who created it). Cubicle Boredom is survived by it contributors Lolita, Zula, Fran, & Esther. They were not available for comment.

mmmBop celebrates 10 years!

At Home With Hanson
It's been 10 years since Hanson unleashed the infectious "MMMBop" on the world – and the brothers (Isaac, 26, Taylor, 24, and Zac, 21) have all gotten married and started families. But they're still rocking – eight albums and four children later. (Their new album, The Walk, comes out July 24.) PEOPLE takes you to Tulsa for a glimpse at family life, and find out what the band thinks about still being sex symbols. (Hint: It's all about being unavailable!)
– Reporting by Rennie Dyball

there IS a video of their people interview (worth watching):
http://www.people.com/people/video/0,,20040537,00.html (you'll have to copy/paste--for some reason it wont let me make a link)

and incase you just haven't had your mmmbop fix in a while..

Base Jumping Ducks

I could watch those jumping ducklings a million times!...

If this doesn't make you smile... I just don't know what will!!.. once again, Planet Earth = Amazing!

No Impact Man!

I can't believe I haven't shared this yet! So there is this guy in NYC who is doing a one year experiment to try to make as small an impact on the environment as possible. I read about him a few months ago in the New York Times and I've been keeping up with his blog since. You can tell in reading his posts that it's all a learning experience for him, and he shares tons of information as he learns it. Some of their methods are extreme, but it's not permanent (they'll incorporate the important stuff back in after a year) and I applaud them for trying.

check them out on their MySpace page: www.myspace.com/wildsweetorange

Some of my favorites from a recent "grew up in the 80s" FWD

You Know You Grew Up In the 80's if:

1. You've ever ended a sentence with the word SIKE.
3. You know that 'WOAH' comes from Joey on Blossom
4. If you ever watched 'Fraggle Rock'
5. It was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons.
7. You got super-excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.
9. You played the game 'MASH'(Mansion, Apartment, Shelter, House)
15. You have ever pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.
17. You remember the CRAZE, then the BANNING of slap bracelets.
22. After you saw Pee-Wee's Big Adventure you kept saying 'I know you are, but what am I?'
25. You have ever played with a Skip-It.
29. You remember Alf, the lil furry brown alien from Melmac.
39. You're still singing LIVIN' ON A PRAYER in your head, aren't you!

hemispherectomy

Check this out!

Remember there was a grey's episode where they did this (i think so anyways) AND the little girl in the book The Poisonwood Bible only had a half a brain.

Now don't tell me that's not cool. My only question is...if half your brain is gone and that empyy half fills with fluid, wouldn't you experience some balance issues with all that fluid shifting around...Just a thought!

Australia tags Paris' Conversion??

This WOULD be pretty sweet!

TV star and heiress Paris Hilton has revealed that she has been changed by her prison experience, and that God has given her “this new chance” to make a difference.

After being sent back to jail, Hilton spoke to American media personality Barbara Walters by phone Sunday, a day after releasing a statement saying she hoped the media would focus on "more important things" than her 45-day jail sentence.

"I used to act dumb. ... That act is no longer cute," ABC quoted Hilton as saying to Walters.

Hilton was briefly released to home confinement Thursday for an undisclosed medical condition, after spending three days in jail in a reckless driving case. She was sent back to jail Friday by an outraged judge, and she is now housed in the medical ward of a maximum-security detention centre.

The call came after Hilton's mother, Kathy, phoned Walters, according to ABC News. During the conversation, the 26-year-old celebrity called her mom on another line, found out her mother was talking to Walters, and then called Walters.

Hilton has been saying that she is changed by her jailhouse experience, and she repeated that theme with Walters: "Now, I would like to make a difference. ... God has given me this new chance."

i heart R.A.

...alright, the other day i realized that i've never seen a Ryan Adams video. Apparently they only come on at odd hours of the morning on MTV2. But I heard that this was the one to find on on the y-tube... espcially because it was never aired due to the date of its filming (a couple days before Sept. 11)..

less than a month...

My Current Top Ten

So hey. Sorry I've been MIA for a while, I had to go to the midwest to find my apartment for my August move westward, and I'll have you know I was successful and am feeling far less stress than before.

Anyhow, all the time on the road/hotels/airplanes and airports gave me time to get some new (and old) music and actually live with it for a while rather than just playing it in the car on my way to work and back, and I thought I'd share my current top ten:

"Soon Enough" - The Constantines

"I Want You" - Elvis Costello (I don't know if I've ever heard a more romantic song...)

"Trapeze" - Patty Griffin with Emmylou Harris

"I Turn My Camera On" - Spoon (their new album comes out in July, yay!)

"Funny Little Feeling" - Rock 'N' Roll Soldiers (this song is just plain fun)

"Are We Different" - Priscilla Ahn

"Am I Missing" - Dashboard Confessional (I've been having a few high school flashbacks)

"Sweet Sweet Baby" - Michelle Featherstone

"Bough Will Break" - Lori Chaffer (a favorite standby)

"Rappers Delight" - The Sugar Hill Gang (because what is life without a little hip-hop?)

Leg shot

Isn't this just the most amazing a shot. The angle is just magnificent, and to believe that this picture was a mistake is unfathomable. The contrast between the toe nail painted foot in strappy heals, and the plain foot in the chacos sneaking into the bottom left hand corner just says it all. Life is a mix of all different styles; its definately not boring.

P.S. The leg is hot!

House hunting...for my future

So I thought I'd fill you in on another one of my favorite things to do when bored. I have three more years of school (exciting!) awaiting me, yet I *think* I know where I want to be in three years...so I house hunt online, even though the houses won't be for sale anymore in three years anyway. It's really fun, you should try it...

New facebook applications!

Is anyone else super excited about them? I am! More ways to waste my time away, yay!

More on iPod Sex Toy

First let me make the note: I am not promoting this.. I just find it hysterically funny..

Some entertainment...

I decided about a week ago that this was going to be my summer to discover all kinds of new music. I didn't expect that to include Nicole Richie's ex-boyfriend DJ AM, but alas, he's cool to watch. Enjoy!

Tidbits to BLOW your mind!

So, for those of you that don't know, i am basically a plethera of random information. I have two CRAZY things to share today.

Yesturday on my computer's homepage i saw a linke that said "Shark reproduces asexually." Naturally i pursue this story, one because i'm a geek and two, because i'm bored senseless.

This is the first story: A hammerhead shark at some aquarium had a baby shark. It is in a tank with 2 other female hammerheads, and none of which have been in a tank with a male for over 3 years. Makes ya wonder huh? Sharks have never been known to asexually reproduce. Seahorses and some fish do/can under certain circumstances...but never, NEVER, has a shark before! Sadly, however, the baby shark was killed by a sting ray. I'm not joking. I wonder if the sting ray knew it was going to be a mutant or something. Also, i can't help but think if this female shark found a way to reproduce because it was her only resort, since there were no males...makes ya wonder, huh?

The second story: A 60 year old woman gave birth to twins!! And it was planned!! Well not the twin part but the birth part. On the today show this morning they showed her and the husband as well as the babies. This woman has a 29 year old kid already and a 16 yrd old. She's 60!!! then the today show went on to debate how ethical it is to have children that old. this woman did not look 60 at all though. But still, can you imagine graduating from HS andyour mom is 78 and your dad 84?!

That is all. :)

iPod Sex Toy

I'm at work... EARLY today. After being guilted into attending a mayoral "state of the metro blah blah blah" address & then being stood up by my supervisor... well, here I sit a bit perturbed..

but I found you this: ipod's new sex toy...
